Pillar — I

The Truth

Named without flinching.

The Truth, from the original napkin

The first pillar is the hardest, which is why it comes first, while you are still fresh. Before a life can be mapped, it has to be told the truth, and most of us have spent years learning not to. We manage the story for the room. We round the corners. We mistake the version we can live with for the version that is real.

The Truth is the practice of saying what is actually so, with nothing flattering left in and nothing hard left out. Not to punish yourself. To stop spending energy on a story that was never quite true.

What it holds
01

Fears

What you are actually afraid of, under the things you say you are afraid of.

02

Hopes

What you still want, named without apology or hedging.

03

Concerns

The quieter worries that never reach the size of fears but steer you anyway.

04

Appreciations

What is genuinely good, told as honestly as the hard parts.
